Important Information
Travel Insurance
It is a condition of joining any of our tours that you must have valid travel insurance. It must indicate that you have cover for (at least) medical expenses and emergency repatriation in the event of illness or injury. We also strongly recommend your policy includes cancellation protection as all deposit paid are non-refundable.

Vaccinations & Protection
Nothing compulsory, but we recommend protection against tetanus, polio, typhoid, hepatitis B and hepatitis A. Tick-borne encephalitis is recommended by some medical sources if travelling in certain areas of Eastern Europe, at specific times of the year. Check latest requirements with your travel clinic or doctor prior to departure.

Preparing for your tour
Climate
Poland has a temperate, changeable climate. Spring is March until May or June. Summer temperatures range from 20 – 30°C and July is usually the hottest month. September and October are cooler and gradually become damper until late November when temperatures fall below freezing with snowfall.

Luggage
Unfortunately it does occasionally happen that luggage does not always reach its destination on the same flight as its owner, or possibly it may be damaged in transit. If you are unlucky enough for this to occur, it is important that you file a PIR (Property Irregularity Report) with the airline before leaving the airport. This is essential when you come to make a claim either against the airline or from your travel insurance company

Clothing
You’ll need waterproof raingear and warm clothing for the mountains i.e. a warm sweater or fleece, long trousers and long sleeved shirts. Gloves maybe useful for canoeing. Swimwear is also advisable as it is possible to swim in some National Parks.

Equipment
Bring a water bottle, a small torch, insect repellent containing deet, sunhat, sunglasses, sun cream and binoculars for wildlife viewing. As we have quite a few picnic lunches on this tour a penknife might be useful – please remember to pack it in your main luggage. Keen photographers may want to take a dry bag so you can take your camera whilst canoeing. Trekking poles can also be useful.
