Recommended Currency for Exchange: USD are the easiest to exchange
Where to Exchange: This should be done on arrival in South Korea. There are banks in most high streets offer foreign exchange services although changing money can take some time
ATM Availability: There will be a few ATMs in some of the larger tourist cities. Credit cards and some foreign bank cards are accepted.
Credit Card Acceptance: Only accepted at big tourist hotels and a few restaurants in touristy areas. Be prepared to carry most of your money in cash since we will be visiting some remote areas.

Local Crew: Although entirely voluntary, tipping is a recognized part of life in this region of the world. Some local staff will look to members of the group for personal recognition of particular services provided. In order to make things easier for you, the Tour Leaders may organise a group’s tips kitty and if this is the case, they will account for it throughout the tour.

It is a condition of joining any of our tours that you must have valid travel insurance. It must indicate that you have cover for (at least) medical expenses and emergency repatriation in the event of illness or injury. We also strongly recommend your policy includes cancellation protection as all deposit paid are non-refundable.

Currently no visa is required for UK, USA, Australian or Canadian passport holders provided the stay is for less than 90 days. Requirements for all other nationalities vary and we advise that you check with your nearest embassy well before your departure date as changes in regulations do occur from time to time. PLEASE NOTE: Explore head office will require passport copies to be sent prior to travel. This passport copy os required for us to pre-book the DMZ and Panmunjeom tour. Without the passport copy, a tour reservation cannot be confirmed as this tour requires permission from the military. If you are unlucky enough for this to occur, it is important that you file a PIR (Property Irregularity Report) with the airline before leaving the airport. This is essential when you come to make a claim either against the airline or from your travel insurance company
