What was the highlight or most memorable moment of your tour?

Walking amongst some great mountains with the wildlife all aroubnd. During our tour we saw many Lammergeirs, Griffon Vultures and even Golden eagles as well as smaller local wildlife. Sadly not the right time of year for the spppring flowers but there is always another tiem.

How was your Explore Tour Leader?

Our Tour Leader was very efficient at arranging things, very professional at explaining options or telling us about the next days walk. He showed great good humour throughout the tour and got involved with the group to make it a much more personal tour. He made sure that the whole group did arrive at the chosen rest stop or destination and kept us all together. a very good job.

What tips would you give to someone else booking this tour?

Explore have graded this very well. The walks do require a fair degree of walking ability but, as in my case, even with an ankle injury the walking was just about bearable. The views are superb and the walks are very well marked. If you get the chance to do the extra extensions do so as they often give additional fantastic views.

In fact, alll the planned walks were great.  Did not plan to do the optional white water rafting in Spain, then decided that, at 60+, it was now or never!  It was fantastic.  The 4-wheel drive over the pass into Spain was also really great and worth doing, even if not going on the rafting (one girl did that and had a great time following the rafts in the 4WD).

How was your Explore Tour Leader?

Very good.  Added to making it a great group.  We stayed more or less together as a group, but he was good at observing different capabilities and helped everyone have a good time, and safely.  He had obviously done this homework on this new tour, but also asked for and was open to any comments.  Group meals successful and varied.  Had necessary information to hand.

What tips would you give to someone else booking this tour?

Take swimwear - there's a spa within a few minutes of the hotel.  Do optional walks where possible - good views of lakes.  Consider the rafting, or if not, at least the 4WD trip into Spain.

Do you have anything else to add?

Hotel particularly good - high standard - good sized rooms - staff genuinely friendly.  The little town of Soldeu not really very interesting - found it didn't have much character for this type of holiday.  It's really just a ski resort, but good accesibility to other places by public transport.  This didn't bother me, but compared with, for example, On foot in the Pyrenees, the two towns in Spanish Catalunya were more interesting.
