Cuba is a beautifully green country offering stunning landscapes, culture, history, architecture and beaches.  This trip is part city break and part beach holiday. Havana’s old town offers the perfect backdrop to markets, bars, restaurants, salsa and dancing. In the green valleys of Vinales we visited a family who provided the freshest coffee and cigars.  Trinidad is a traditional old Caribbean town with cobbled streets, museums, bars and near fantastic beaches. All this with a catamaran trip, snorkelling and friendly iguanas.  We also saw the sights of the Cuban revolution and witnessed those places synonymous with Fidel Castro and Che Guevara, whose mausoleum is both moving and magnificent.  Both the group and the people are fantastically friendly, all of whom you’ll share a mojito or two with. The best 8 days I have ever had. Havana is officially my favourite city and I never thought New York would be beaten. So much to see on every corner and in the night live music can be heard in every bar and salsa and cocktails add even more fun. Visiting Vinales and smoking a real Cuban cigar add to the many new experiences this holiday offers. The colonial town of Trinidad gives you time to relax and soak up the Caribbean sunshine and visiting Santa Clara and Che Guevara’s mausoleum mean you don’t miss out on the rich history of the island. Never have I felt so sad to leave a country -
thank you to Explore and your tour guide who made the holiday so unforgettable. (SOCN 24th August 2011)

12 women, 4 men and 1 highly entertaining tour leader on the Cuban trip of a lifetime.  Admiring the procession of 1950’s beauties shimmering along the Malecon.  Concocting lethal mojitos before salsa dancing till dawn with the regulars in old Havana.   Taking in the Jurassic vistas at Vinales, before venturing into the countryside to share a cigar with the local tobacco farmers.  Wandering the peaceful, colonial streets of Trinidad.  Shopping for bargains in the art galleries and flea markets, before taking in some live music at Casa de la Trova.   Gliding on a catamaran through the sparkling waters of Playa Ancon, without a care in the world. Lively from beginning to end. A great mix in the group all really friendly and raring for a great time. Mojitos and Salsa are a great ice breaker and everyone joined in. Contrasting from the city of Havana and all its wonderful picture opportunities to the unforgettable landscapes of Vinales – Dancing salsa stilettos to muddy walking boots in the country side. A tour of Contrasts where the tour leader made it run so smoothly. (SOCN 24th August 2011)
