What was the highlight or most memorable moment of your tour?

The end ..... What a fantastic route across the North of England. It's a great cycling experience. Riding through beautiful countryside on quiet tracks and minor roads. It gives you a 'behind the scenes' view of this part of England.

How was your Explore Tour Leader?

Neil was great. He organised things well, looked after us, and was full of interesting information.

What tips would you give to someone else booking this tour?

Get fit and hope the wind blows from the west.

How was your Explore Tour Leader?

Brian was brilliant, loads of local knowledge, great company and took some fabulous pictures.

What tips would you give to someone else booking this tour?

Go outside of Peak Season, this is a great trek which is popular in the Summer. October was perfect! The Bikes are just right for the exped, take your own pedals for click-ins but saddles are just fine.

Do you have anything else to add?

A worthwhile trip, extremely good value for money with close vehicle support. Accommodation is basic but there's always hot showers to soak your bones after a good days cycling with new friends.

Prior to going on the trip I was concerned about whether I was fit enough, but I need not have worried. I was allowed to go at my own pace, and Brian the tour leader was very supportive and encouraging, very down to earth and friendly.  The whole weekend for me was amazing the spectacular scenery, the comraderie you get from other cyclist is unique to that experience.  I strongly recommend the C2C, yes its a challenge, but how will you know what you can do unless you try.   The whole experience will stay with me for the rest of my life.  Thank you very much.

This is a classic ride through some of the most beautiful scenery you will come across in the UK; everyone who loves cycling should do it at some stage! Leaving the west coast we soon got into the green rolling hills and stone walls of the Lake District. Then as we continued east the landscape changed dramatically, at times feeling quite eerie as we rode on stark, mist covered moorland, passing disused mining hamlets along the way. Arriving into Newcastle along the Tyne was quite something - the spectacle of the bridges and the Sunday market on the quay welcoming us in style. And dipping the wheel in the sea at Tynemouth gave a huge feeling of accomplishment at having crossed England by pedal power alone.

Yes. I know that I am the tour leader but I still want to let you know what a fantastic tour this is. I live in the north of England and have cycled this on numerous occasions and never fail to get a fantastic buzz on completing the route. There is something special about cycling from one side of the country to the other and more so when you do it with good, like minded, company.

The lake district scenery is absolutely stunning at all times of year and the ride throught the Eden Valley is such a contrast before reaching the north Pennines where some very dramatic landscapes await. Finally, 35 miles of descending on disused railway tracks and designated cycle routes to the north east's most vibrant city, Newcastle, before reaching the coast at Tynemouth.

Best advice from me is....plan to stay an extra night in Newcastle before travelling home and I'll join you for a celebratory drink. Yes the ride is a challenge but the reward and sense of achievement will stay in your memory forever. (C2C)
