The trip appealed to me because it seemed such great value for money, exploring Cairo and the pyramids and sphinx, travelling by overnight train to Aswan and taking in the wonderful temples in that area, experiencing 3 nights on a felucca and finishing in Luxor seeing all there is to offer there. Our group was a perfect sized 12 and our tour guide Mohamed proved to be a wealth of information, with a fantastic sense of humour and showed a personal interest in each and every one of us. I was impressed by almost every site we saw but even though I've seen pictures a hundred times and television footage over the years I couldn't help but be impressed by the pyramids at Giza. I was bowled over by the Egyptian museum also with its excellent stash of delights from Tutankhamun's tomb. We also had a wonderful guide, Tarek, with us on our Cairo leg whose enthusiasm gripped us all. The overnight train was great fun as were the 3 nights on a felucca. You really must be prepared for living a very basic existence on the boat though it allows you to see the nile from a completely different angle. A warm sleeping bag is a must as is a torch. Arriving in the wonderful hotel Explore uses in Luxor was a great way to spend the last few days, it's a fantastic idea to have a place with a pool after the felucca leg of the trip. Throughout the Egypt Solo Adventure everyone we came across was helpful, cheery and knowledgeable and just wanted us to have the best holiday we could. The trip includes visits to so many wonderful temples such as Edfu, Karnak, Valley of the Kings within the itinerary and makes it very good value. Highly recommend.
