The Inca Trail, brilliant to take a day longer to walk it as were not  in sync with other groups and saw 6 other trekkers over the whole route.

Nilton Corrillo was a fantastic guide and i want to nominate him for Tour Guide of the Year

What tips would you give to someone else booking this tour?

Take a very warm sleeping bag, make sure its a top quality 4 seasons sleeping bag to -15 or hire one from  Explore ( Condor Travel) Walking sticks were essential for saving ones knees on the trek.

Security at the Hostel Incarra in Cusco was not great

What was the highlight or most memorable moment of your tour?

"Most memorable moment was suffering altitude sickness with blood pressure of 160/20 and spending the night in a clinic in Cusco and unfortunately not doing the Inca Trail.
I did go to Macchu Picchu (2350m approx) by bus and was able by then to walk up to the Guardhouse."

How was your Explore Tour Leader?

"Excellent.
He/Condor Travel arranged for for me to see a doctor and arranged hotels, a tour guide, car and driver for me to see some of the Inca sites at my pace while the rest of the group was walking the Inca Trail."

Obtain medication from GP in case have altitude problems.

Do you have anything else to add?

Most of the group suffered some symptoms of altitude sickness when flew from Lima (sea level) to Juliaca/Pune  (3800m),  In my opinion (and Wikitravel's) this is too big a difference in altitude without some intermediate stop/stay at eg Arequipa, for acclimatisation.  I was the only person who continued to be affected by the altitude after 2/3 days. The activities on the first two days involved walking up hill in the middle of the day. Think it would have been preferable to have acclimatised more gradualy and reduced the number of days in Cusco (eg 2 after Machhu Pichhu could have been reduced to 1. Alternatively fly to Cusco (3360m) for 2or 3 days then do trail and see MP before taking train (or bus) from Cusco to Pune, Lake Titicaca and fly Juliaca to Lima.
