I think the visit to Namibia was spectacular. I thoroughly enjoyed it and so did my family, who it would be first time on safari. Walvis Bay was very good with the dolphins and the cheetah reserves were also spectacular. Climbing Waterberg Plateau was another highlight and our guide Julia was excellent. Would have liked to perhaps extend into the Kalahari?

This was our first Explore holiday so although highly recommended by our friends who have been on quite a few Explore holidays, we had no real idea what to expect.  Well, what can I say, the first morning walking up Dune 45 was so amazing we were speechless and from then on every day just got better!  On the boat trip around Walvis Bay a seal joined us on the boat - yes ON the boat, Pelicans were flying overheard and we were surrounded by dolphins and seals in the sea, amazing!  We saw Elephants, Lions, Leopard, Zebra, Rhino and at least a million Springbok :).  We met 11 month old Cheetah cubs, went for a walk in a canyon woke up to Baboons hoping to share our breakfast - the list just goes on.  Our 3 children said this was the best holiday they had ever had. I can also honestly say this was the most exciting holiday we have ever had it was just so sad to say goodbye to our tour guides and come home, I also must mention the wonderful team who looked after us our charming guide Charles, our brilliant cook Alan and super driver Emmanuel, they all contributed to this wonderful holiday nothing was too much trouble and they have even responded to e-mails the children have been sending them since we got back. True gentlemen!  Thank you Explore the trip was excellent - I think we will seriously soon be planning our next Explore trip and I just can't wait! ( FNW - 23rd July 2011)

My husband and I had previously been on a Kenyan safari so thought we knew what to expect but we were mistaken.    Our tour guide, Malvin, was fantastic - his knowledge was outstanding and his enthusiasm infectious. He had all of the children eating out of the palm of his hand. There are so many highlights on this tour that it is difficult to single any out. If anything, it was almost too much to take in. From climbing up the impressive Dune 45 (and running back down the side of it); to our first encounter with a beautiful leopard (casually strolling along the side of our jeep); to my 8 year old son's holiday giraffe count (119, for the record); to sharing our motorboat with a friendly seal; to our up close and personal encounter with an even friendlier giraffe (he tried to lick us); to the magical campsite at the Africat Foundation.   However, if pushed my top three would have to be: taking a flight over the Namib Desert at dusk - just breathtaking; a night drive at Etosha National Park - my 12 year old son declared that it was the best day of his whole life; and finally standing at the back of the motorboat at Walvis Bay watching the pod of dolphins playing in the wash of our boat.   I do however have one word of warning. This was our one 'once in a lifetime' holiday but have only been back one month and have already booked to got trekking in Nepal with Explore next Easter. We couldn't help ourselves!
