This trip is absolutely fantastic. If you are interested in the History of Egypt then this is the tour for you. Our Guide Taso was so knowledgeable and absolutely fantastic. The temples were amazing and the holiday itinerary was really well organised. It was of course tiring at times but so much was packed in and the sights made it all worthwhile. The Felucca Sailing was so relaxing and was fabulous. The experience of waking up at Sunrise led on the deck of a boat on the Nile is something that will stay with me forever. The food on the boat was fantastic and the scenery beautiful. I would highly recommend this tour to anybody. There are a few early starts but this just adds to the action packed fun. If I had to use one word to describe this tour it would be "Awesome".

What a whirlwind week! From rising at 5am to float over the Valley of the Kings our first morning at dawn,to seeing about twenty mummified crocodiles at Kom Ombo on our last night with our beloved Felucca we never stopped. But there was almost always a choice. One could lounge about on roof top pool areas if that felt right, but why miss so many stunning and exotic sights. The tombs and temples are so much more beautiful than I expected and the food excellent especially the street traders falafels.

The efficiency of the tour guides was made apparent even before we had left the airport at Luxor as some swift remedial action was deemed necessary to thwart the dubious practices engaged in by a group of advantage-seeking 'officials' keen to relieve us of our english pounds. From thereon the trip proceeded with unfaltering ease. Rising above the fertile pastures to the west of the NIle in a hot air balloon as the sun rose majestically over the eastern hills we moved seemlessly on to visit the Valley of the Kings. The hustle-factor was Richter-scale 9 but the colour and detail in the tombs outweighed it. Meal times were a mix of authentic local cuisine and simple pizza and chips if preferred. Our No. 1 guide Wa'el introduced some of us to the Egyptian falafel with trimmings (7p a meal). Driving to Abu Simbel in a gaggle of vans and trucks at break neck speed provided an element of amusement ( or consternation) but the end result was magnificent - the colossi are colossal. High point for me was the colours of the paintings in the various ruins that and being swept down the Nile close in to our Felucca by way of afternoon swimming - no crocodiles ! Of course the Felucca trip itself was what really made it with its associated side shows and the pitch-dark motor boat ride back from the son et lumiere at Philae. Not enough space to go on suffice it to say it was a potted concentrated trip efficiently and smoothly conducted. Highly recommended.

Wow, packed so much in a week. The balloon ride is a must, our pilot Amr was very professional, even landing the basket upright!  A must do is all the temples, one not on the itinery, that our tour leader, Waal (fabulous chap) suggested we visit was Habu Medinat, definately a must do. Yes, its a busy trip and there are a few very early starts, but the sites are worth it. The crew on the felucca, particularly our Magic chef were super and we were looked after very well.  This time of year it does get quite chilly with the wind so take a warm fleece or jacket.  And the food is by far, excellent.
