How was your Explore Tour Leader?

Skillfull, always prepared with informations, recommendations or explanations about the cities, sights, areas and people on our way through Peru  

What tips would you give to someone else booking this tour?

Seeing this facination landscape on the Inca Trail (tracks, porters, guides ... well prepared and supported) and Machu Picchu - you have to do it and you never will forget the impressions and images. From beach, desert (Atacama), Lake Titicaca (Altiplano) Andean mountains (cloudforest, rainforest), Amazon area (jungle) you will see very different areas (plants, animals, ...) - just do it!

Do you have anything else to add?

Explore (or Condor Travel) should think about the possibility, that people have to do the Inca Trail - it is not very well if there are people on this trip not doing the Inca Trail (after the Inca Trail the "not-hiker" are more apart from the main group and our Explore Tour guide was separated during this time). Offer only 2 times during the year possibility not doing the Inca Trail - rest of the year only people to do this trip with the Inca Trail. Condor travel uses his own trek kit bag - discuss this and write this in your trip notes, saves weight on your main luggage to Peru.

We are actually in the process of introducing new non- trekking itineraries for a number of our Peru tours. This gives our customer the freedom to pick the most appropriate trip for them.

What was the highlight or most memorable moment of your tour?

Make sure you get all the details from the Tour Leader before they depart in Cuzco as I hadn't expected such a long journey from the Amazon to Lima.  Read the Trip Notes carefully to make sure you have everything you need for the different places and for what to expect.
I had three main highlights (although the whole holiday was brilliant and very busy).  Taquile Island, seeing the condors and walking the Inca Trail.  Taquile Island was lovely and peaceful and almost felt like a Mediterranean island with a deep blue lake around.  I had only expected to see condors in the distance so when they started to fly close to us and one flew directly overhead it was thrilling.  The Inca Trail was far more beautiful than I had expected and I loved walking it and being in the mountains.  And of course Machu Picchu was fantastic.

Do you have anything else to add?

The way the trip walks the Inca Trail, and the campsites used, is great as it means that for two nights we were the only tour group on the campsite and on the other night there was only one other group.  It also meant that we walked most of the trail by ourselves (apart from of course porters dashing past) which made it far more peaceful than I had expected and was a real bonus.
