What tips would you give to someone else booking this tour?
"Was pleasantly surprised by the cost of food and drink. Because you're staying a non touristy area the prices were very reasonable.
Any you must try the local honey rum!"
What was the highlight or most memorable moment of your tour?
"This is a super holiday and the remote mountainous terrain which we enjoyed was a big surprise on what is basically a more conventional holiday destination. I have driven around the entire Island many years ago and failed to grasp the remoteness of the inner reaches which are often as rich in colour as they are spectacular in scenery."
How was your Explore Tour Leader?
Isi Juve is and was a superb Tour Leader with never a dull moment and him on the go shepherding his flock from 7 in the morning until late into the evening. 10/10
What tips would you give to someone else booking this tour?
Take poles if you are not confident on steep and rocky descents. A wide brimmed hat and some strong sun screen are important because the weather was a superb and sunny 25c on average and the sun was very strong from 10.30 til 3.30 in the afternoon. Insist on direct flights and DO NOT travel via Madrid as you cannot rely upon the connections.

Flying via Madrid was a nightmare and can be avoided by paying between £ 30.00 and £ 50.00 over and above the Madrid option.
| Fantastic walking - far exceeded expectations! Very varied walks and beautiful scenery. The optional 3 walks midweek are a must - real highlight of the week. Do go on the tomato-growers visit, if offered (I didn't, but regretted it!) and do starve yourself for the amazing meal on the last evening at the cactus garden (astonishing value and out-of-this-world food!!) Lovely little hotel - basic but friendly and clean. Great breakfasts (except for the coffee - beware!!!). Highly recommended - especially in Feb, when I went, as the climate was perfect for walking and it was great to get away from winter here! (Very chilly in the evenings though!) |
