Flights to and from the start and end of the tour are as important to get right as the holiday itself.
Are flights included?
We publish prices in the UK with flights from London airports, however, you can choose to book the your without flights (Land Only) or alternatively we can arrange special flights from regional airports or upgraded flights if you would like us to do so.
A handful of tours have slightly different travel arrangements, such as a Eurostar hop for the Dordogne Discovery or an Edinburgh rendez-vous for the Norwegian Fjords & Polar Bears cruise.
Booking flights yourself
If you are making your own travel arrangements to the start of the tour, we recommend that you only purchase flights (or train/bus tickets) that are totally flexible and refundable.
Due to the nature of adventure holidays, days of operation and itineraries can change. It is important that all customers are able to amend their connecting travel arrangements should the need arise. Also in the event of a tour being cancelled (for whatever reason), it is important that customers are able to get refunds if they no longer wish to use the flights, bus or train.
Booking Flights from Regional UK airports
Whilst many people choose to take our 'Group Flights', we are aware that many others would rather fly from regional airports or leave a day or two before the start of the tour - or indeed stay for an extra few days at the end.
Our friendly and knowledgeable sales team are able to search for and book flights with many different airlines, so should be able to find the exact flight to suit your needs.
Upgrades and special requirements
If you have any other special meal or seating requests, or would like to upgrade to Premium Economy, Business or Club/First class please call the sales team.
Flight supplements
The flight inclusive guide prices quoted on the web and in our brochures are based on 'Group Flights' from London. As these group rates are subject to availability, sometimes we may need to find alternatives on the same flight or with a different carrier. In this case, we will speak to you about the cost implications of doing this.
Fuel surcharges and Taxes
New or increased airline fuel surcharges (or other related taxes) imposed by airlines after tour prices have been set, may be passed onto customers at the time of booking. The latest fuel surcharges or taxes are shown as a separate item next to the selling price on this website.
Once you have booked, the price of your holiday will generally not alter, unless there has been a significant change in airline fuel surcharges or other related tax. If this does happen, Explore will absorb, an amount equal to 2% of the total invoiced holiday cost - please click through to Booking Conditions section 11 for details.
Airline and schedule changes
When you book a flight inclusive tour with us, your holiday confirmation will contain provisional flight details, correct at the time of booking. The timings or even the flight numbers or routing could vary several times before departure.
Explore will keep you informed of any changes to the flight schedule which will affect departure or arrival times significantly (ie by more than 6 hours), or have a material effect on the tour itinerary.
Any other changes which occur prior to a final invoice being sent 9-10 weeks before departure will not be communicated. However your final invoice will contain the latest flight information at that point in time.
