If there's one thing we've learnt over the years, it's the importance of having good travel insurance in place with a reputable and experienced company.

In fact, its something we take so seriously, that if you can't prove that you have reasonable cover in place at the start of the tour, we'll insist that you buy a policy from us there and then; or we will be unable to carry you on tour.

Strong words indeed, but hopefully it gets across the message, that this is one of the most important criteria for anyone travelling with Explore! You, and everyone travelling on your booking must have a valid policy in place and all those travelling must carry all details with them on tour.

If you already have travel insurance, please make sure you double-check the following:

• Are you specifically named as being covered on the policy document?
• Are the dates valid for the period of travel with Explore?
• Does the insurance cover all medical and repatriation costs?
• Are emergency contact details shown?
• Have you declared any pre-existing medical conditions to your insurers and obtained full cover for those conditions?

How to buy Explore insurance

If you would like to buy a single trip policy, this is best done at the time of booking an Explore tour.

If purchasing online, choose the tour on which you'd like to book on, then follow the normal booking procedures. As part of that process you will be asked whether you would like to buy insurance.
