Here at Explore we loved the very special programme that was broadcast on BBC1, Polar Bear: Spy on the Ice. Polar Bear: Spy on the Ice gets closer than ever before to these charismatic bears and reveals their astonishing intelligence and curiosity.
Directed by John Downer it is a 60 minute film that follows two Polar Bear Mums and their cubs in the Arctic archipelago of Svalbard (Spitsbergen) in Norway. Using cutting edge film technology including iceberg-cam, blizzard-cam and snowball-cam, the programme follows the journey of the polar bears from the moment the cubs emerge from their winter maternity den to how they face their first summer in a world of shrinking ice.
This is a program not to miss, as it offers a fascinating insight into these spectacular creatures. So, if you missed it, you can watch it on the BBC website here.
