Fancy winning a place on our 8-day Gorilla & Chimp Safari in Uganda? We’re offering this fantastic prize to the Great Gorilla Run’s (2012) top fundraiser, so why not give it a go…
Explore have sponsored the Great Gorilla Run and worked with its organisers, the Gorilla Organization, for a number of years now. A charity close to Explore’s heart, the Gorilla Organization works tirelessly to protect gorillas and save them from extinction. Now in its 20th year, the Gorilla Organization has adopted a community-based approach to conservation, setting up a variety of projects that enable local people and gorillas to live alongside each other.

The annual Great Gorilla Run is the charity’s biggest fundraiser and this year takes place on 22nd September 2012. The unique and unforgettable event which is now in its 10th year, and once again set to be started by TV conservationist Bill Oddie, sees hundreds of people including star of stage and screen Adam Garcia run seven km through the streets of London – dressed as gorillas. As if this wasn’t exciting enough, we are this year rewarding the top fundraiser with a free place on our 8-day Gorilla & Chimp Safari in Uganda.
To register for the event, and your chance to win a free place on the Gorilla & Chimp Safari, visit www.greatgorillarun.org. Fundraisers are asked to raise a minimum of £400 per person, but upon signing up will be sent a fundraising pack to help with ideas, and a gorilla suit - which can be kept after the race.
If you’re keen to support the Gorilla Organization but running’s not your thing, then the charity are looking for willing volunteers to help marshal the event. Please contact the Gorilla Organization’s Events Team on 0207 916 4974 for further information.
