What to expect

We’re keeping things simple with our Back to Basics tours that really get off the beaten tourist track. As always each tour is accompanied by an expert tour leader and we travel and mix with local people every day seeking out the most authentic local places to get right under the skin of each destination. The itineraries and activities are planned to be as flexible as possible, so you have the freedom to do your own thing: join in as much or as little as you want – it’s a very un-packaged experience!

Less is more – by taking out some of the frills, you get the flexibility and freedom to do more personal exploration and we’ll regularly use local transport which is a great way to mix with the locals. Our Back to Basics hotels, home-stays and guesthouses although sometimes unrated, will be simple and clean with friendly and welcoming hosts and you’ll get more chances to choose where to eat and drink as most meals aren’t included.
