Cruising the Nile on the M/S Doma

Our Nile Riverboat

Our newly refurbished Nile riverboat, M/S Doma combines the style and comfort you would normally associate with a large cruise ship, with the relaxed and intimate atmosphere of a smaller vessel. Chartered year-round for the exclusive use of Explore and with 14 fully refurbished passenger cabins, life on board M/S Doma is easy-going and informal: the perfect base from which to explore the sites of the Nile.

About M/S Doma

Laid out over three decks, the boat is fitted out to a high standard throughout. All cabins have recently been enlarged and are fully air-conditioned, with private en-suite showers, washbasins and WCs, plus large picture windows. On the Middle Deck are a spacious dining area, bar and lounge – also fully air-conditioned – and from the Upper Deck there are fine, uninterrupted views across the Nile. All meals are included whilst aboard the riverboat, prepared by our cooks and served either in the dining room – or al fresco on deck. Typically we serve ‘continental’ breakfasts, light lunches and Egyptian-style three-course dinners.

8 reasons to cruise the Nile aboard M/S Doma with Explore

Small groups
• With only 14 passenger cabins our Nile riverboat combines comfort with the relaxed atmosphere only possible on a smaller vessel.
Exclusive
• Chartered year-round for the exclusive use of Explore groups. Only one group at a time, so more informal, relaxed and fun than conventional Nile cruises.
Comfort
• Comfortable, clean and unpretentious (for luxury try the Dahabiya) - we think this is the perfect base for exploring the Nile.
Spacious
• Originally built for 48 passengers, but in keeping with our small group ethos numbers are limited to 24. The 14 refitted cabins are spacious and the public areas surprisingly generous.
Local crew
• Our captain, boat manager, chef and crew make an Explore Nile Cruise a friendlier, more personal experience. You are a name, not a cabin number!
Itinerary
• As well as visiting all the famous highlights (Valley of the Kings, Karnak, Edfu etc) we’ll take you to lesser known places and get to know the ‘real’ Egypt.
Tour Leader
• Nile Cruises have become mass market, making it all the more important to have a leader who knows where to take you, and when, to avoid the crowds.
Moorings
• Moorings: in centre of Luxor directly in front of Luxor Temple (probably the best mooring in town) and in Aswan on northern end of the corniche
