The Everest Region
The Everest region, or Khumbu Himal as its known locally, is of course most famous as the home of the world’s highest mountain and magical views of this mighty peak are a vital ingredient of all our treks here. Trekking through this land of the friendly Sherpa people with picturesque mountain villages and remote monasteries also provides a rich cultural experience.
Take the ultimate challenge and trek to overlook Everest Base Camp from the summit of Kala Patar(5545m) - choosing either the camping or tea house option.
Or for something less strenuous but still with amazing views of Everest try either our tea houses or comfortable lodges

Life on Trek
All our treks are accompanied by an English speaking Nepali tour leader and a number of Sherpa guides, thus allowing the group to spread out and you to walk at your own pace. All equipment and your luggage will be carried by porters or pack animals – you just need to carry your daysac and are left free to enjoy the scenery.
A typical day starts early with the bulk of the walking in the morning with breaks for photographs or glass of tea at a local lodge. A leisurely hot lunch allows time to relax and enjoy the views, with a short walk in the afternoon. After arrival at our destination a substantial hot evening meal will be provided and when we are close to a village there is often the chance to sample local brews (with varying degrees of potency!). |

The Annapurnas
The Annapurnas have perhaps a greater variety of terrain and culture. Terraced fields rise tier upon tier from impossibly steep gorges and towering high above are the snowcapped peaks of the Annapuranas including the iconic fishtail mountain Machapuchare. If you’re a first time trekker Annapurna Panorama is a 4 day low-altitude trek with fantastic views of the Annapurnas as well as taking in Pokhara, Chitwan, Kathmandu and its valley.
If you want to trek a bit further, our 9 day Annapurna Sanctuary treks take you into the heart of the high peaks.Choose from either camping or tea house version.

Why Choose Explore?
We don’t offer the cheapest treks to Nepal but we believe that we do offer the best value for money…..
- Whether camping or staying in teahouses/lodges, 3 meals a day are included on all our treks. By including all meals, we help save on the fuel used in food preparation and waste is reduced. Importantly, it also ensures you receive the balanced and nutritious diet you need to be in tip top condition for your trek!
- We understand the importance of a comfortable night’s sleep and reliable hot shower both before and after your trek. With this in mind we’ve carefully selected our hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara to provide a little more luxury than some other operators and to guarantee your rest and comfort at these crucial times.
- Our Tour Leaders were voted, by customers, the best in the Industry in a Holiday Which Magazine Report and our Nepali leaders consistently receive some of the best feedback of all! They have all completed our the rigorous Explore tour leader training, as well as training organised by KEEP (Kathmandu Environmental Education Project).
- Safety is our priority. PAC (Portable Altitude Chamber) bags are carried on all our treks over 3000 metres and satellite phones where local communications are limited.
