We have graded all our walks and treks to help you choose the right trip. Click on the links below to display all the trips within that trek grade. You will also find more detailed information on individual tour pages, along with charts showing daily distances and the amount of ascent and descent, with a brief description of the terrain.

easy_walking

Easy

Short walks, around 4 to 5 hours per day. Routes are at low altitude and the terrain is undemanding. Only minor ascents and descents are involved. Previous walking or trekking experience is not necessary: you just need to be reasonably fit and active.

easytomoderate_walking

Easy to Moderate

Short to medium duration walks, around 4 to 7 hours per day. Most routes are at low altitude and on undemanding terrain. Expect occasional ascents and descents of up to 800 metres per day. You do not need previous experience but should be moderately active and fit.

moderate_walking

Moderate

Medium duration walks, around 5 to 7 hours per day. Normally at low altitude and on well-maintained trails, but expect some fairly demanding ascents and descents, up to about 800 metres per day. You do not need previous experience but should be moderately active and fit.

Modtostren_walking

Moderate to Strenuous

Medium to long duration walks, normally around 5 to 8 hours per day. Generally on good paths and at low altitude, but occasionally more challenging terrain and possibly high-altitude trekking. Expect ascents and descents of up to about 1000 metres per day. A good level of fitness is required and we recommend some previous trekking experience.

Strenuous

Long and sometimes challenging walks, normally around 6 to 8 hours per day. You should expect some difficult terrain and some high-altitude trekking. Ascents and descents are demanding, up to about 1000 metres per day. High levels of fitness and stamina are required and some previous trekking experience is recommended.

Strenuous to Tough

Long trekking days, normally around 6 to 9 hours per day. You should expect to be trekking at high altitudes, occasionally across difficult terrain and possibly scrambling or crossing snowfields. Ascents and descents may be more than 1000 metres per day. Trekking experience, preferably at high altitudes, is recommended and you must have a good level of physical fitness and mental stamina.

Tough

Very long trekking days, normally around 7 to 9 hours per day and sometimes more. Often at high altitude and across difficult terrain; these treks sometimes involve scrambling or crossing snowfields. You should expect ascents and descents of more than 1000 metres per day. Trekking experience, preferably at high altitudes, is strongly recommended. You must have a good level of physical fitness and mental stamina.
