Favourite holiday destination?
This one is easy - it has to be Nepal. In my view, Nepal has everything an intrepid traveller could wish for – picture postcard scenery from the towering Himalayas to the steaming plains of Chitwan, a rich heritage with an array of beautiful temples and monasteries, and of course tasty cuisine. But for me what really stands out is its people. Nepal’s people are warm and welcoming, and some of my fondest memories are from chatting to the friendly locals when stopping for a cup of chai at one of the many teahouses dotted across the mountainside.
Where would you like to go next?
Having worked in travel for nearly 10 years, this is an ever expanding list! I would love to visit Japan, I find the rich history and Japanese culture thoroughly fascinating. I would also love to return to South America, perhaps trekking through the rugged and impossibly beautiful Chilean Lake District.
Best piece of travel advice?
Whether it's the adventure of taking a ferry up the Mekong or catching an overnight train through Thailand, try to take a ride on public transport wherever possible. It's a wonderful way to see the country and a great opportunity to engage with the locals.
