Helen has long had a passion for travel, starting as a teenager when she travelled to
Canada and
Australia for expeditions with the Air Training Corps. Since then she has travelled to many countries worldwide and conquered many goals, including climbing
Kilimanjaro, hiking the
Inca Trail and touring
New Zealand in a campervan. Amazingly, a dream trip to
Antarctica with Explore allowed her to tick off her seventh continent – something she never expected to be able to do! As an amateur wildlife photographer, Helen has a particular passion for
wildlife trips.
Antarctica was an out-of-this-world experience to capture characterful penguins, fluking whales and curious leopard seals. But Helen’s other favourite destination is the
Galapagos Islands – a wildlife photographer’s paradise! With golden beaches full of seals and marine iguana, waters full of green turtles and islands full of scarlet-breasted frigatebirds and blue-footed boobies, there is no better place for someone who loves to photograph wildlife. As with any traveller, Helen’s bucket list continues to grow – and it does at an even quicker rate now she works in travel! She has had her eye on the
Botswana Wildlife Safari since starting at Explore though and is hoping to finally get there very soon – better start making space on the camera memory cards!
