Exploring on two wheels is one of the best ways to see a new destination. Lose yourself in peaceful natural landscapes, soak up the local culture and top up the energy reserves with plenty of delicious foreign food. Here are our favourite cycling holidays for 2022.

 

Cycle Southern Spain - Murcia

Feel the wind rush past your face as you ride through an oasis of almond and apricot orchards irrigated by the Segura River in Murcia, Spain. Earthy arid slopes jut into clear blue skies in the Ricote Valley, and quiet Via Verde cycle paths lead you to the bustling town of Murcia at the foot of the mountains on this week-long cycling tour. Freewheel through rustic villages and explore 15th-century Moorish settlements before ending a long day in the saddle with a delicious plate of local food accompanied by excellent Spanish wine.

Cycle the Dalmatian Coast

Crumbling fortified cities and traditional Berber villages line the route, and we spend a night under the stars in a Saharan desert camp. Cycle Albania

Albania may not be the first place you think of for a cycling holiday, but this largely undiscovered corner of Europe in the heart of the Balkans is a treasure trove of quiet roads set amongst spectacular rural scenery. Cycle Puglia, Italy

Enjoy delicious Italian food and easy-paced cycling in the sun-drenched region of Puglia, Italy in 2022. Cycle Jordan

Cycling in Georgia

Immerse yourself in the Caucasus region and soak up its unique blend of European and Asian culture on our ten-day cycling tour in Georgia. Pedal through a dramatic variety of landscapes from the Mtkvari Valley, onto the Javakheti Plateau and over the Gombori Pass with the Caucasus mountains as a backdrop. Cycle Portugal

Start with a day exploring the cobbled streets of Lisbon; perhaps try a pastel de nata (Portuguese custard tart) in one of the many cafes and bakeries, hop on an old-fashioned tram or take the chance to visit Sintra by train. You’ll then cycle south through wild coastal landscapes, past fishing villages, pristine coves and superb beaches, with chances to stop for a refreshing swim en-route and, of course, to try the great local cuisine and wines. Cycle the entire length of the Costa Vicentina Natural Park on this week-long cycling trip, ending your ride in Sagres.

Cycle Dolomites, Lake Garda and Venice
