This includes encouraging all those who travel with us to think about what to pack when embarking on an Explore trip, as waste and pollution related to the tourism industry pose a negative impact on the economy and ecology of many destinations.

Travel tips for packing a suitcase
Your approach to packing your suitcase can make a big difference in can reducing your carbon footprint. The more you pack, the more weight is carried on the aircraft and other modes of transport you’ll be travelling in, which can result in greater levels of fuel consumption.
1. Make a list of the things you need.
Take the decision to pack consciously, and you will already be making a step towards greener travel. Here are some tips on packing light that can be utilised by all travellers, regardless of their destination:
This is the best way to make sure you don’t forget anything, and will help you to make sure you’re packing light. Write down everything you will need for your trip, then review and see if there’s anything you can remove. If you have laundry facilities at your accommodation, you may wish to reduce this list down further and wash some items while you’re there. 2. Opt for a smaller, lightweight bag.
The larger your suitcase, the more tempted you will be to fill it with things you don’t need. Try to get a case that just
fits everything you need in it, so you aren’t tempted to add any unnecessary items. There are also plenty of lightweight cases and luggage bags on the market that you can choose to lighten your load.
3. Perfect your packing technique.
To make sure you get all the things you need into smaller-sized luggage, you will need to craftily assemble the contents of your suitcase to fully utilise all available space. Rolling clothes is a much-loved technique for making the most of your space, while smaller items like socks and underwear will fit into the remaining nooks. Place your bulky and rolled-up items at the bottom of your case, and then toiletries and lighter items on the top.

As well as refining your approach to packing your suitcase, you can also make the choice to purchase and use eco-friendly travel products, which can help to reduce the impact on the environment at your destination. However, plastic bottles are often hard to recycle when abroad, as a number of countries may not have effective recycling systems in place, so you may find that disposed plastic items end up contributing to already-overflowing landfill sites. 2. Pack a reusable shopping bag

It’s very easy to forget about our usual recycling routines when we’re away, so make sure you strip away any unnecessary packaging from your essentials before you go. 4. Choose environmentally friendly toiletries.
Eco-friendly toiletries will ensure that you are not introducing potentially harmful chemicals into another ecosystem. Carry out research on which brands; create eco-friendly products such as soaps and shampoos, so that you can continue to carry out your daily routines on holiday, without having to worry about contributing to pollution.
