From the picturesque landscapes of New Zealand to the historic trails of the Inca Trail Trek, walking trips in 2024 cater to a diverse range of preferences. Whether you seek a challenging trek or a leisurely stroll, there's a walking itinerary for every type of traveller. Take a look below at our top walking trips for 2024.

1. Walk the Great Wall of China

For a walking trip with astounding views, look no further than Walking the Great Wall of China. Walk along ancient cobbled walls steeped in history that roll over the hilly landscape as far as the eye can see. This moderate-grade trip walks a total of 37.5km over 6 days, with the hike beginning at Shanhaiguan, where the wall reaches the sea. Don't expect perfect and well-maintained footpaths here - some sections of the wall are broken up with overgrowing plants sneaking through the cracks, but this only adds to the sense of adventure and makes this hike truly unique as you follow in ancient footsteps.

Between the hikes we enjoy plenty of interactions with locals to learn of the ways of life here, including enjoying a meal with a local family and meeting the eagle hunters and seeing the ancient tradition in action. 3. Inca Trail Trek

The Inca Trail is worthy of any bucket list, so why not tick this one off in 2024? Spend four days trekking this picturesque trail with the help of your expert leader and skilled team of porters, stopping each night to camp in a stunning location and enjoy hearty local food that has been cooked by the team. Of course, the reward at the end of this trek is reaching the majestic Machu Picchu site that clings to the mountainside. Unlike other tour operators, we don't rush this visit straight after the hike. Instead, relax your tired legs in a hotel in Aguas Calientes and return refreshed and ready the next day to enjoy a comprehensive guided tour of the whole site.
