Things to see and do

Laos is a beautiful country with a huge amount to offer adventurers. The capital, Vientiane, offers beautiful French architecture and a relaxed atmosphere. The former royal capital of Luang Prabang, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, charms with striking religious buildings and a scenic riverside setting.

Further afield, Wat Phou, a remnant of the former Cambodian kingdom of Angkor, offers a unique glimpse into Laos’s spiritual past while the Plain of Jars captivates visitors with its enigmatic stone urns and wartime history. In the north, you can hike through rural villages and enjoy outdoor adventures, while the Mekong islands in the far south are perfect for relaxing in a hammock and dolphin spotting.
