Boat Journeys in Croatia

Home to over a thousand islands, the Croatian Adriatic offers some of the best cruising in the Mediterranean. The beautiful Dalmatian coastline is famous for its crystal-clear waters dotted with islands. Boat journeys in Croatia are popular and due to the mild Mediterranean climate are best done between May and September. Cruises often leave from Dubrovnik or Trogir on traditional vessels which can sleep up to 20 people.

Additional information

With an extraordinary 1,777 kilometres of coastline on the Adriatic Sea (the most shoreline in the Mediterranean) and with 1,246 islands and islets, one of the best ways to discover Croatia is by boat. A boat-based holiday can be relaxing or active. There are plenty of watersports to try out, such as windsurfing, sea kayaking and snorkelling. Alternatively it is possible to simply relax on the sundeck of the boat or on secluded beaches and take in the stunning scenery. The boats sail from island to island, which can then be discovered on foot or by bike.

Different islands have different personalities. We discover the heart of Mediterranean life by exploring medieval architecture, visiting ancient villages and vineyards. Korcula is the most historical of all of the Dalmatian islands and it is believed to be the birthplace of Marco Polo. Boasting red terracotta roofs, stone cathedrals and winding roads, discovering Korcula is a highlight of many cruise itineraries. On Hvar Island, it is possible to visit the pretty turquoise waters of the Blue Cave.
