Cycling in Iceland

Iceland is a unique and geographically exciting destination perfectly suited to rugged outdoor adventure holidays. A newly formed landscape of active volcanoes, glaciers, lava fields, thundering waterfalls, hot springs and geysers make you feel as if you are on another planet at times. Cycling through this terrain and across black lava deserts is a memorable and exciting experience. Other parts of the island offer a pleasant contrast with more recognisable meadows strewn with wildflowers, bird-rich coastal trails and neatly tended farmland.

Country Information

On a cycle trip of Iceland you can explore pure, unspoilt nature at its wildest. Bike on trails away from traffic  through black deserts, past green volcanoes, wade across glacial rivers, bathe in natural hot springs and camp at remote mountain lakes.

Iceland lies close to the Arctic Circle and enjoys an extreme and changeable climate. Summertime temperatures rarely get above the low 20s centigrade and can even drop below zero at times. Cycling is ideal at this time of year in July and August. The  very long daylight hours mean you can make the most of your days and enjoy the striking landscapes at any time and in all lights.
