Cycling in Poland

With twenty-three national parks covering a large and varied topography Poland is a great outdoors destination and home to abundant wildlife with forests covering a third of the land. A bike holiday through unspoilt landscapes is an ideal way to explore this natural beauty and discover Poland’s rich cultural heritage with many medieval castles, cathedrals, historic sites and beautiful towns. It is possible to combine Poland on a cycling holiday with another of its neighbouring eastern European countries such as Slovakia, Ukraine, Hungary or the Czech Republic.

Country Information

The Baltic seacoast is marked by spits, coastal lakes and dunes which contrast with the mountainous region of the south. The central plains are dominated by the Vistula and Oder Rivers which drain into the Baltic. Further south the mountains rise to form natural barriers to neighbouring countries. The highest part of the Carpathian Mountains are the Tatra Mountains along the southern border.

Cycling in the Beskid Mountains bordering Slovakia takes in the picturesque Dunajec Gorge and the medieval towns of Stary Sacz and Nowy Sacz.
