China is a vast country, the third largest in the world and geographically spanning five time zones. Thankfully as the entire country works on Beijing time you don’t need to worry about adjusting your watch as you travel through the 22 provinces that make up the country.
There is plenty on offer for families with children of all ages, from the ancient Forbidden City and Summer Palace of Beijing, to hiking along the Great Wall and even the teenagers will love spending time watching the loveable giant pandas chomping on bamboo at the Chengdu Research Centre. China has a rich history and a visit to the Terracotta Warriors, located just outside of Xian, is not to be missed. This expansive site is home to a collection of life size statues created to protect Emperor Qin Shi Huang in the afterlife.
