Family Holidays in Malta

Lying between Europe and North Africa, to the south of Sicily, the Maltese archipelago is made of five main islands: Malta, Gozo, Comino, Comminotto and Filfla. Malta enjoys warm, sunny summers and mild winters and is the perfect destination for getting away from it all.

Malta became independent from Britain in 1964 and a republic in 1974. It joined the EU in 2004 and became part of the Eurozone in 2008. Contrary to popular belief, the people of Malta are referred to as ‘Maltese’ not ‘Maltesers’!

The warm Mediterranean waters which surround the islands are perfect for enjoying water-based activities such as sea kayaking, swimming and snorkelling. Malta also has many beautiful beaches and a large water park complete with slides, wave pools, waterfalls and its own ‘river’ – great for those travelling by rubber ring!
