All of our small group adventure trips welcome single travellers, but we know where are the very best destinations for singles holidays. Cuba is a real solo adventure travel favourite - our best-selling
Cuba Libre! journey across the breadth of the country offers you an incredible chance to discover the island's famous and colourful history and contemporary Caribbean culture. Along the way you'll stay with the locals, pass through spectacular landscapes and of course visit Havana, where there's a rum bar on every corner, so you'll have no problem making friends!
Want to venture to an exotic locale on your solo adventure? You'll be captivated by the
Quetzals of the Cloudforest in Costa Rica. Making our way through this magnificent country you'll have opportunities to spot its vibrant wildlife, from the famous sloths to the breathtakingly beautiful quetzal bird. Not only that, but you'll be able to cruise jungle waterways and visit unspoilt white sandy beaches, also visited by iguanas and Capuchin monkeys - you'll never run out of something to talk about with your fellow travellers.
Or if you'd prefer to take a solo adventure holiday a little closer to home, we've an inspiring choice of European group adventure trips that are ideal for singles, and where you'll worry less about cultural or language barriers. Explore the
Baltic Capital Cities, an ideal first-time trip to this intriguing area of Europe, visit
Moscow and St. Petersburg to take in opulent palaces and fascinating museums, or head solo to Iceland to catch a glimpse of the
Northern Lights with an Expert Astronomer to maximise your chances of spotting them.
If you love to get active, our
Walking and Trekking Holidays and
Cycling Holidays are well-suited to single travellers. From a scenic
Southern Oasis Cycling holiday in Morocco to a life-affirming challenge on our
Kilimanjaro - Lemosho Trek, Explore offer the opportunities to see the places you've always wanted to see, in the way you've always wanted to see them. We even provide your bike on our group cycling holidays, so you don't need to worry about taking your own.
If you'd much prefer to set your own pace for your own solo adventure, take a look at our
Self-Guided Holidays, including
Self-Guided Walking Holidays and
Self-Guided Cycling Holidays, where you'll follow our itinerary, but in your own time. They're great adventure tours for singles as you can make as many or as little daily stops as you please, and we'll take care of transporting your luggage.
At Explore, we take your safety and wellbeing seriously and all of our group adventure holidays are designed to give you maximum enjoyment as well as peace of mind.
However, while we do follow an itinerary you'll have some free time during your trip, which you're able to enjoy how you please - but when travelling solo, we recommend that you don't travel too far from the group, let someone know where you're going, or better still, invite one of your new friends and fellow travellers to join you. Be vigilant when exploring a new place, especially in busy and unfamiliar areas.
Learning a little of the local language or packing a phrasebook will help you to get the most out of your holiday too, and locals always appreciate the effort!
It's also very important that when you have booked your solo travel adventure, you find out whether you need any vaccinations in plenty of time before you go. Your GP can help you to arrange any that you need - take a look at our Travel Health page for a few more tips on vaccinations, and generally staying healthy on your solo adventure trip, including how to avoid getting sick or sunstroke.
Be sure to also check whether there are any passport entry requirements for your destination, as some countries such as Africa require that your passport is valid for up to six months after your return date.
Last of all, don't forget that you have any questions at all about solo travel or our trips, our knowledgeable Customer Support team are always on hand to help.
