About the Douglas Mawson
Introducing the Douglas Mawson, a state-of-the-art purpose-built expedition vessel setting sail from 2025. This stylish small ship, named after the legendary Australian geologist and explorer, has a maximum capacity of 130 passengers, with an extension range of cabins available including comfortable single cabins.
The ship boasts an impressive array of amenities including a heated outdoor swimming pool and jacuzzis, a gym, sauna and Citizen Science Centre. Guests can enjoy delicious meals and drinks in one of two restaurants, take in fascinating presentations by on-board naturalists and experts in the lecture theatre and marvel at the incredible polar landscape from multiple observation lounges.
