Kayaking in Antarctica

Enjoy the polar environment from a completely different perspective, for a more intimate experience as you bob through the waves. As you glide silently among the ice floes, you might be very lucky and come eye to eye with an inquisitive whale or seal. Accompanied by an experienced leader, you will kayak in a group to sheltered bays and areas known for their calmer waters. No other activity gets you as close to the natural marine environment.

Kayaking is offered as an optional extra (subject to availability) on all of our Antarctic voyages aboard the Expedition. We use twin kayaks. Each time you go kayaking you will forgo a trip out in a Zodiac inflatable boat. The cost starts at £699 per person.

This optional extra is only available if you book it prior to departure, so please speak to one of our polar experts to check availability and to reserve your place.

If you opt to go kayaking, you will be required to bring suitable clothing in order to take part; it is extremely important to be able to stay warm and dry.
