Moderate grade walking tours

Moderate grade walking tours

Suitable for fit and active first timers, as well as intermediate walkers, a moderate grade walking tour will be on predominantly good paths at low altitude (usually below 2,500m). There may also be some trickier terrain underfoot and more demanding ascents and descents included on some routes. Previous hiking experience is preferable but not a requirement. You can expect to walk around 3-7 hours per day, with some epic views to reward you along the way.

FAQ

What can I expect?

Picture walking the undulating trails of West Cornwall’s cliff tops, climbing a steady ascent to a breathtaking viewpoint such as Pico Ruivo in Madeira or cross-country treks on the historic Camino de Santiago pilgrimage on a walking tour in Spain. There can be steep sections to tackle as they're a step up from leisurely grade walking, featuring staircases or rocky paths, however, you'll also experience flatter routes along the way.

What is a moderate and challenging grade walking tour?

A moderate and challenging grade walking tour is perfect for those looking to test their trekking skills. These trips feature a combination of moderate hiking days, and longer, more challenging grade treks that may feature higher altitudes (over 3,000m) and trickier ascents.
