Bear-Watching Trips

Bears have always held a fascination for nature lovers. Perhaps it is their elusive nature or the danger element of these fearsome predators that both excites and intimidates at the same time.

Whatever the reason, few wildlife experiences can match the thrill of seeing bears in their natural habitat. In Canada there’s the chance to spot black bears and grizzly bears in Jasper National Park and in Churchill we venture in bespoke vehicles across the Arctic ice-fields to see polar bears up close. Alaska is home to a large number of bears and our groups often sight a grizzly bear in Denali National Park.

In Finland you can observe the rare European brown bear from specially created hides, whilst in Romania hope to see European brown bears during our walks. In Europe the Norwegian territories of Svalbard (Spitsbergen) and Franz Joseph Land, with their 3000-strong population of polar bears, are the best places to observe the Arctic’s most fearsome and most impressive predator in its natural habitat.
