With 27 regions split into 101 departments and landscape varying from ‘flat as a pancake’ to mountainous, there are endless options for a family holiday in France. It’s great to come to the ‘motherland’ to practice speaking French and of course, enjoy the delicious cuisine (it’s no coincidence that this word is a French word that has been adopted into the English language)!
If you are after an active holiday in the great outdoors, the French Alps are hard to beat. Home of the Tour de France, it’s no surprise that there are many great cycling routes to try, both on and off road. There are also endless walking trails which wind through tranquil forests, across Alpine meadows and past crystal-clear mountain lakes.
When it’s time to relax, head for a café to enjoy some serious coffee and choose from an array of freshly-baked pastries which are impossible to resist.
