North America is a vast continent containing two of the world’s biggest countries, the United States of America (USA) and Canada. With a continent spanning more than 20 million square kilometres it is hard to know where to begin!
This region is very family-friendly with lots to discover. There are plentiful flights, no language barrier and no problems catering for fussy eaters, the only issue is having too much food as portions tend to be big.
North America contains some of the world’s most beautiful national parks, including Yosemite, Yellowstone and Denali in the USA and Jasper and Banff in Canada. These national parks are great for active families as they are best explored on foot or by bike. If you are lucky you may be able to spot some of the wildlife including brown bear, moose and caribou.
Adults and children alike will be amazed by the spectacular natural wonders the continent has to offer such as the Grand Canyon (one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World), Monument Valley, made famous by countless cowboy films, the thundering Niagara Falls and the Rocky mountains
Families also enjoy exploring vibrant and diverse cities such as New York, San Francisco, Las Vegas and Toronto. And if all of this sounds tiring, why not build in time to relax on the world-famous beaches of California or Florida? With something for everyone, North America is the perfect destination for a family holiday.
