This trip has a delightful mix of visiting cities and seeing some stunning scenery. America's national parks are fabulous. My highlights were cycling in Acadia National Park and visiting Martha's Vineyard. I went in early September and we had gorgeous weather. The leaves were just beginning to change colour. If you are going for the autumn leaves, you may want to consider a later trip but then you have to contend with cooler weather and shorter days.

Dublin, Ireland
I completed the Explore feedback e-mail as requested last week. I waited until I returned home which was a few days after the trip hence the delay of a week or so. All my comments are there however the edited highlights are:

Tour leader good & did a fine job especially considering that this was his 1st Explore tour & it was just assigned to him at the last minute. Also, he was expected to double up as both tour leader & driver which is a tough request for anybody.

Schedule was good though some more time in the cities, especially Quebec, would have been nice.

Accommodation was ok, certainly nothing special but no problems that could not be overcome either.

Transport was a mini-bus which did the job but was a bit cramped. There was sufficient room for the driver, 7 passengers & bags but nothing else & a couple of passengers had to sit in the middle of 3 seat rows which is not the most comfortable place to be.

A great trip with a good mixture of city and National parks could have done with more National parks time as Baxter State park is an amazing beautiful place .

Having never visited the USA or Canada I was delighted to have the chance to go on this trip. The added bonus for me as a Red Sox supporter was ending up in Boston! The highlight for me was the time spent in Kejimkujik National park. The unspoilt natural beauty of the park was incredible, along with the sounds of the park, which were undisturbed by any man made noises! Spending time whale watching made me realise I really needed a new camera, as seeing these fantastic creatures up close is something I will never forget. Throughout the whole trip you get to see a wide range of areas, from the wilderness of Kejimkujik, the quaintness of Martha's Vineyard to the city of Boston, with it's modern buildings. The only downside was that it rained on the final full day in Boston, and I missed the Red Sox game, but that just gives me a good reason to return! The tour leader is both a driver and guide. Our tour leader fully integrated themselves into the group and became a member of the group rather that our leader. She was one of the best tour leaders I have had on a tour.
