This is an amazing trip! Everything was very professionally run and every effort made to achieve the objectives of the trip, which we did. Never a dull moment. The expedition staff and ship's crew were excellent and we wanted for nothing. The ship (M/S Expedition) was very comfortable and just the right size.

Highlights - too many to mention, but here's a few: Sailing through the night and waking up in a new location with the excitement of going ashore. The amazing variety of wildlife, getting up close to penguins and seals. The fantastic scenery, history and solitude of Antarctica. Not knowing what to expect from day to day. Zodiac cruises amongst surreal icebergs and seals swimming alongside the boat. Crossing the Drake passage in a storm Force 10 (don't worry you won't die from sea sickness and it is worth it and usually calm once in the Antarctic waters!), etc, etc.....

Tips: Do not go for a larger ship. A class 4 cabin is great if you can afford it as it has a large window and it was fantastic being able to sit on the bed drinking tea watching the icebergs/scenery drifting by. Parka supplied is more than adequate so you do not need to take heavy outer clothing but plenty of thermal layers, including trousers and waterproof/windproof over trousers. I found silk long johns a good underlayer. Good waterproof gloves. High factor suncream/block.

Explore was the booking agent the actual tour was with G Adventures.

I can't say enough good things about the G Adventures Antarctic MS Expedition experience. There attention to detail, emphasis on safety, compliance to the safety and bio-security practices, itinerary, ship, Antarctic briefings and presentations and great food exceed my wife and I's expectations by a significant margin!
