Borneo is a beautiful country with exceptional wildlife. This was a enjoyable tour with a good range of activities, exploration and sightseeing. We particularly enjoyed the unspoilt Kinabatangan river cruise and the snorkelling in Pilau Tiga but found the Sepilok Orang-utan and Sun Bear Sanctuaries (whist worthwhile rescue programmes), similar to viewing in a UK zoo. It was an amazing experience to reach the summit of Mount Kinabulu and a beautiful climb but it is strenuous and not all of the group felt the desire to go beyond base camp. It is worth preparing physically for the trek and take pack fleeces, base layers, warm gloves and a good waterproof for the summit ascent.
