What was the highlight or most memorable moment of your tour?
Highlights for me included our first evening watching the sunset over the straits of Malacca (sea) with a drink, snorkelling on Tioman Island and coming across my first turtle and shark (despite 5 other snorkelling destinations), going for a night walk in the rainforest and realising how noisy it was and enjoying the fantastic Indian foods.Read more

How Was Your Explore Tour Leader
Paul had a great knack for showing us cheap delicious places to eat. He had a good knowledge and was keen to help us in any way. Sadly he had to leave us part way through the tour when rizwan stepped in. He soon got to know us and swiftly picked up where Paul left off and filled us in on the country's history. Both were very good guides and pleased to help.
What Tips Would You Give To Someone Else Booking This Tour
I researched well for the nights in the rainforest, thinking I'd need all sorts of anti leech products, bandanas, talc, good footwear but it was all unnecessary as conditions were dry. Food can be remarkably cheap eg £2 a meal but Singapore can be v expensive eg £7 for a coke depending where you go. The Guides are not licensed to help in Singapore so the group is pretty much independent to do anything on arrival. It's good therefore to think ahead as to how best to utilise the short time there. Some of us extended our stay to enjoy the sites of Singapore. The night walk in the rainforest is interesting in hearing the noises at night but can be hampered by the noise of all the other groups also venturing out at the same time. The ability to see animals can therefore be limited. All the hotels provide drinking water as well as tea/ coffee facilities assisted by the use of British style plugs. There are also free hotel shuttle buses in Singapore to the main shopping district and airport. Some buses are also free in Malaysia.
Do You Have Anything Else To Add
This is a busy tour, packing in sites on a daily basis getting the most out of the time availalblee, although I would have liked more time in KL, Malacca and tioman particularly to savour the fantastic beach opportunities. Malaysia is an interesting country with a great cultural mix and hence cuisine. Expect to be bombarded my smells of joss sticks burning from Chinese temples or fragrances of jasmine from Indian flower stalls. Expect heat, humidity and monsoon rains that brighten up quickly. This tour provides a bit of everything I terms of weather, food and, geography. Enjoy.
