Family In the Shadow of Vesuvius (Lite version)

This charming corner of Italy is renowned for its superb scenery, mouth-watering cuisine and fine weather. Based in Sorrento, travel along the spectacular coastline of chic villages overlooking the Mediterranean. Visit the Roman city of Herculaneum and climb to the summit of Mt Vesuvius famed for its violent eruption in the first century. Join us on a child friendly discovery tour of Naples, feast on classic Italian pizza (which we get to make ourselves) and choose from a range of optional additional activities including kayaking, snorkelling, hiking and fishing.

This Explore Family holiday 'lite' option has been designed to offer you maximum flexibility; a great value price with many activities included but also the option to pick and choose additional activities you want to try. If half the family want to head out to the island of Capri whilst the other half want to take it easy, relaxing overlooking the Med - no problem, everyone can be accommodated! A full breakdown of the costs of each of the activities suggested on this trip are detailed in the downloadable trip notes - optional excursions section. Please note all activities are paid locally and are in addition to the basic holiday price on this Explore 'lite' family holiday.

This trip allows the option for triple rooms to be included within the booking on a selected number of night stops within the holiday. If you would like this option, a discount may be applicable on the cost of the trip - please ask our Sales team for further information.

It is a condition of booking with Explore that you have adequate valid travel insurance. It is your responsibility to arrange appropriate travel insurance and ensure you have read and understood the full terms and conditions of your travel insurance policy to ensure that you are covered for all activities you intend to undertake whilst on the tour, including all optional activities. Your Insurance Policy must fully cover you for medical expenses and emergency repatriation to your home country. Please ensure your policy includes medical emergency helicopter evacuation in the event of illness or injury and covers the entire duration of your holiday. If you are trekking at altitude please ensure that there is no upper altitude limit which may limit or exclude cover for your trip. The cost of many of our Polar Voyages will exceed the capped amount covered by standard insurance premiums and you will be required to pay an additional premium to cover the full value of your trip. Please ensure that you are covered for the full amount of your holiday cost, as insufficient cover could invalidate a claim under the policy.
