Interesting exploration of two under-visited countries. This trip concentrated a little too much on birds for my liking, I'd have liked to find out more about the culture of the countries. We didn't get to find out much about the flora (no mention of the medicinal plants, brief visits to the plantations, etc.). Not much to do in Suriname, the Guyana 'canopy' was empty, but we saw lots outside of the lodge and on the road! Liked the Kaieteur and Surama lodge the most. Be aware that it's not an active trip. Paul is a good leader, very knowledgeable.

I would not recommend this trip, the bird life sightings were minimum. To much time at
Anaula Lodge we did the same walk 4times. The lodging and food was good the people
really tried hard to make us comfortable. There just is not enough to see to validate the expense of the fight and the tour. Paul is a great tour leader very knowledgeable all around.

Thank you for your feedback. As we’re sure you can appreciate, wildlife can be very capricious, and as such our trip leaders do recommend walking at varied times of the day to increase the chances of a sighting. I am sorry that the guide did not clarify this with you.

Hoped to see more birds and wildlife than we did Venezuela and the Pantanal (Brazil) were much better in that respect. Highlights were the Kaieteur falls and the troupe of Red Howler Monkeys waking us at dawn 100yards from our huts by the Iwokrama Canopy Walkway. An unforgettable sound! Excellent! One of the best we have had.
