- This was a fascinating trip. Starting in Nepal which still managed to captivate despite the earthquake damage. Moving to Tibet, seeing pilgrims prostrate and walk the 'kora' around the Potola Palace with an inspiring display of Buddhism and what it means to them. Watching the monks at prayer with crashing of cymbals and banging of drums and deep vibrant chanting was spellbinding. Fab weather to see Mt Everest in all it's glory. Great scenery. Itinerary had been changed so had to return to Lhasa, although we did take a different route. I was glad to have taken throat sweets as high altitude can cause very dry throat. Tiger Balm also helped with headaches. It was a great tour and Explore Leader Kiran was terrific, always smiling, calm, helpful and in control.
