Tour was interesting and informative. Our tour leader had a wealth of knowledge and tailored aspects to our interests.
There were long and hurried walks in the amazon jungle which may be too much for some less fit members.
Machu Picchu was more impressive than imagined, the Andean Explorer train was fabulous and the giant otters seen in the jungle were an added bonus. So many things to enjoy.

From the start, it was obvious that we had a great tour leader. Everything was organised & communicated clearly and the enthusiasm of David infected us all. We were a small group of 7 which helped. The tour started in Lima and we where soon taking in the sights & sounds of this busy city. Accommodation in the Hacienda Hotel was excellent. Flying to Arequipa the next day we stayed in a lovely little hotel with views of the Misti volcano. Arequipa is busy but full of interesting history. The change in altitude was noticeable and the stay gave us a chance to acclimatise before we traveled to the Colca Valley over the highest point 4910m. The early start to see the Condors was well worth it. Although we got close, take a camera with a good zoom to get the best pictures. Lake Titicaca was a wonderful experience. The people are very friendly and happy to show you their homes.
The hotel in Puno was excellent. The next highlight was the Andean Explorer train. This was a beautifully run train with an old fashioned feel. The observation car gave us excellent views of the landscape as we traveled through to Cusco. The Eco Inn Hotel, Cusco is clean and well presented but proved very noisy. Rooms away from the large reception area are better. David made sure that we got to all the best places to see the influence and historic legacy of the Inca.
Machu Picchu is fantastic. Be prepared to queue for the bus as the whole world seems to be there waiting to get up to it. Once there after the interesting bus ride up the mountain, it didn't seem so crowded. Some of us walked up to the Sun Gate later in the day which was a hard walk at the altitude but well worth it for the views.
We chose to do the White Water Rafting in the Sacred Valley. Great experience if a little wet! We did the Amazon extension which was a huge contrast. From the altitude and cooler regions down into the steaming and humid jungle. Shirts were soaked by the shortest walk. Take plenty of light tops as they are hard to dry overnight! Wildlife was spectacular. We were fortunate to see the Giant River Otters which were delightful.

Overall this is a well balanced itinerary. The food was excellent, accommodation comfortable and organisation fantastic. There was a fair bit of walking but time to recuperate. We felt we had seen inside the real Peru, not just the tourist spots. This was certainly a trip I would recommend

Wonderful varied trip seeing all the well known highlights of Peru .Well paced with plenty of free time to explore at leisure . Particularly pleased to be able to make have opportunity to visit Machu Pichu on a second day .

Amazon extension well worth doing for a relaxing few days and chance to experience a totally different environment .

Only change I would suggest would be an extra day in perhaps Cusco or Arequipa and less at the end in Lima .Appreciate though this might be possible due to flight times .

Omar was an excellent Guide .Passionate about his country and his knowledge and enthusiasm added greatly to the trip .

Excellent trip, got to see everything Peru had to offer I'm an amazingly well organised trip. The tour leader, David Arce, was one of the most knowledgeable and enthusiastic people I have ever met, knew all the best eating places wherever we visited too! Definitely recommend this trip, 5* holiday!
