We start the week on a comfortably graded cycle trail through the Sierra de la Demanda mountains, through peaceful mountain villages and past rolling grain pastures. We spend a night in the historic Yuso Monastery, birthplace of the Castilian language and now a comfortable hotel. Our route then takes us into the heart of La Rioja wine-growing region with the chance for wine-tasting and vineyard visits.

Tour Highlights

  • Bilbao - A chance to view the world famous Guggenheim Museum
  • Burgos - The historic old capital of Castile
  • Via Verde de la Demanda - Cycle into the Sierra de la Demanda and follow part of the famous Camino de Santiago. Stay at the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Yuso Monastery
  • La Rioja Wine lands - Explore the famous Rioja vineyards and the beautiful landscapes of the Rioja Alavesa region. Visit Santo Domingo de la Calzada, the Dinastia Vivanco Museum of Wine Culture and the visually impressive Bodega Marques de Riscal
