Please review your overall experience and what your highlights were

This tour far exceeded our expectations in all ways. The organisation was superb, everything ran exactly to time. The accommodation was very impressive and the animal sightings on safari were incredible!

Please Review Your Overall Experience And What Your Highlights Were

Going on safari was a dream come true. The mixture of different parks was amazing and allowed us to see so many animals from lions, elephants, zebra and we even saw a leopard and rhino. The lodges were beautiful and in the Serengeti we were able to stay close to the wildlife but with all the facilities you would want and great staff who were always on hand to help.

What was the highlight or most memorable moment of your tour?

Too many to choose. Lions resting in grass moving to trees to climb and wait as look outs as buffalo approached. Elephant family passing tent at breakfast. Leopards playing in long grass then posing on log. Seeing leopard kill at bottom of tree then next morning up the tree and family feeding. Seeing cheetah kill and then feeding just yards from us. Family's of lions basking on rocks. The shy small serval cat twice. The majestic giraffe and migration of zebra and wildebeest. Ostrich family of 32 young. Hundreds of elephants at the river etc. Not to mention the great lodges set in lovely situations.

What was the highlight or most memorable moment of your tour?

The ballon safari  was  very good but also quite expensive but something you should do once in your lifetime.  You feel you are like a bird. We saw   a male lion, two cheetas  one with a fresh kill and numerous other animals. It was  a quite magical  experience. Zanzibar was also excellent with all the past history and the alley ways. The food in some hotels was very good.

Our Response

We have noted your comment regarding how you thought the trip was fast paced. We have informed our Operations Manager who suggests if customers want some relaxation time, they are more than welcome to sit out of one of the game drives. We appreciate that we do stay in several locations, however the accommodation we use is of a good standard for this tour and you get to appreciate the different surroundings.

Thank you for your comments about our Tour Leader. We are disappointed that you thought he lacked local knowledge. Each tour leader must have a first trip to a new area within a season as it would be impractical for them to continue with the same tours year after year.  In preparation, they have considerable briefings which, combined with the benefit of experience from previous leaders in the form of a comprehensive tour manual which carries a wealth of detailed pre-prepared background information, ensures they can carry out their responsibilities of facilitating the smooth running of the tour effectively. The main role of a tour leader, as we state in our Pricing and Information supplement, is not one of a courier or guide, but that of an organiser checking the logistical arrangements for the tour and ensuring that everything runs smoothly.
