Our family trip to Rajasthan used the Tailormade Rajasthan itinerary and was a fantastic family holiday. The tour was very well put together, covering the 'Golden Triangle', then heading into Rajasthan and taking in desert, mountains and lakes; all with a fair sprinkling of temples, forts and palaces. Our driver was wonderful - the most pleasant and reliable individual we have ever had the pleasure to have worked with on our trips, and the guides at each destination were knowledgeable and flexible. This was our first visit to India and it lived up to all our expectations of sights, sounds, tastes and colour. Each destination on the itinerary was unique and fascinating. There was a fair amount of travelling between destinations, but the distances were usually broken up by visits and were easily manageable even as a family. The Explore team put together a great package and everything from booking (where I received excellent advice from the area specialist), to the itinerary, to the execution of the holiday were exemplary. Thank you for a great experience for our family.

A wonderful taste of Rajasthan and the Golden Triangle,if a bit hectic.
Realise we should have had more than one day in each place. However, we
packed in an incredible amount of sites and places in the two weeks we were
there, and well worth the effort. Many highlights - Taj Mahal, Jaisalmer, Bikaner
Jaipur, Jodpur and Udaipur. We felt we could have skipped Bishnoi village which was
lacking in content. All the guides were incredibly helpful and informative, especially, our
Jodpur guide, Mr. Kan Singh Rathore, who was kind and helpful and so calm.
It was so nice to be met by a Cox and King representative at each hotel and to have their rep. take us to the airport on our return journey homefrom Udaipur.
Our driver, Mr. Laxmenwas incredible - a brillant driver and ace at avoiding the chaotic
traffic coming from all directions, including cattle. He was kind and thoughtful and nothing was too much trouble....he drove over 1000 kilometres and was very punctual
every day. We can highly recommend him to your future clients.
The hotels generally were good, but some cleaner than others. Our room on arrival at the
Royal Plaza was less than clean. We absolutely loved the Bal Samand Garden Retreat and the quirkiness of the Ghanerao Royal Castle - a treat to delve into it's history.
A bit disappointed with the Lakend Hotel in Udaipur - very lacking in atmosphere, although it's position was good, but not the food or the interior of the hotel, although
the room was comfortable. The staff at all the hotels have always been welcoming and
Vimi at Lakend especially when I lost my bank card. She was so helpful. We loved the
Mandawa Haveli in Jaipur, with it's lovely garden to sit and have drinks in. Llangarth Palace in Bikaner was very large and food not too good. They were shooting a film and
cables and wires everywhere....we loved going to the Thar desert, well worth the long drive.
Overall a wonderful experience and we thoroughly recommend it.

Tour was as described and very well organised. Everything went according to plan. Hotels, with one exception, were of a high standard. The driver was professional and helpful at all times and the local guides were of a very high standard. Difficult to pick a highlight as it was all fantastic. The drives through rural Rajasthan were fascinating and we felt we really were observing local life.
The holiday was excellent value for money.

Guides and Cox & Kings coordinators did their jobs very well. All lodging ranged from excellent (Jodpur especially) to very good. Sites and daily itinerary were well planned. The one issue is to ensure that any shopping or other such activities that involve possibly buying goods locally are clearly delineated as such up front, and don't involve a sense of being "steered" by guide to select shops where they may know and financially benefit from arranging such visits. The afternoon trip outside of Jodpur was essentially a sales situation and was not comfortable.
