Saint Thibery, France
- A wonderful taste of Rajasthan and the Golden Triangle,if a bit hectic.
Realise we should have had more than one day in each place. However, we
packed in an incredible amount of sites and places in the two weeks we were
there, and well worth the effort. Many highlights - Taj Mahal, Jaisalmer, Bikaner
Jaipur, Jodpur and Udaipur. We felt we could have skipped Bishnoi village which was
lacking in content. All the guides were incredibly helpful and informative, especially, our
Jodpur guide, Mr. Kan Singh Rathore, who was kind and helpful and so calm.
It was so nice to be met by a Cox and King representative at each hotel and to have their rep. take us to the airport on our return journey homefrom Udaipur.
Our driver, Mr. Laxmenwas incredible - a brillant driver and ace at avoiding the chaotic
traffic coming from all directions, including cattle. He was kind and thoughtful and nothing was too much trouble....he drove over 1000 kilometres and was very punctual
every day. We can highly recommend him to your future clients.
The hotels generally were good, but some cleaner than others. Our room on arrival at the
Royal Plaza was less than clean. We absolutely loved the Bal Samand Garden Retreat and the quirkiness of the Ghanerao Royal Castle - a treat to delve into it's history.
A bit disappointed with the Lakend Hotel in Udaipur - very lacking in atmosphere, although it's position was good, but not the food or the interior of the hotel, although
the room was comfortable. The staff at all the hotels have always been welcoming and
Vimi at Lakend especially when I lost my bank card. She was so helpful. We loved the
Mandawa Haveli in Jaipur, with it's lovely garden to sit and have drinks in. Llangarth Palace in Bikaner was very large and food not too good. They were shooting a film and
cables and wires everywhere....we loved going to the Thar desert, well worth the long drive.
Overall a wonderful experience and we thoroughly recommend it.
