Highlights were the temples at Angkor, just spectacular. We also loved the overnight train from Hanoi to Hue, the Imperial Tombs at Hue, the Red Bridge Cooking lesson at Hoi An and wandering around Saigon. The food throughout was just amazing. We didn't really enjoy Sapa, the weather was foggy, trekking was sliding through mud and it seemed a bit of the local character had been lost to a focus on selling souvenirs to tourists.

The Moonlight at Hue and Liberty Central in Saigon were both excellent. Somadevi Angkor Boutique and Resort in Siem Reap was great, well worth the upgrade. Wouldn't recommend the U Sapa hotel, it was noisy day and night.

Tour guides were good; our guide in Cambodia was great at giving information on the temples then letting us wander at our own pace. Our guide in Saigon was really really good when I was ill and we needed to cut some parts from our itinerary.

We travelled as a party of 4, the whole experience was amazing from Luang Prabang to HCMC with such varied culture, religion, food and climate. We had 5 different tour guides who were all extremely helpful and if they couldn't answer a question, would find out the answer! They were happy to slightly amend tours or include alternative visits to markets at our request. All the accommodation was extremely well located enabling us to walk to great eateries, food and night markets and places of interest. Halong Bay and the Mekong Delta trips were stunning & Hoi An is a definite 'must see' and if you have the time we would strongly recommend a visit Luang Prabang, the town and surrounding countryside were beautiful and tranquil. The only slight disappointment was the 'homestay' in the Mekong Delta which was more like a 'backpackers' hostel than actually staying with a family (as we had previously experienced on a trip to Kerala) but nevertheless we had a very enjoyable evening on the edge of the Mekong River. We would thoroughly recommend the experience of a tailormade trip to anyone who wishes to visit Vietnam at their own pace with the back up of the excellent guides.

The whole trip ran like clock work. The people involved , the guides, drivers, hotel/ home stay staff were all so polite and friendly.
The highlight was the home stay on the Mekong river, cycling around the countryside and hoi Ann.
