This was an amazing trip - a perfect balance of activity and lazing around on the boat (or in the water beside the boat). The children were in the water as soon as we moored and the adults did lots of snorkelling and swam with a number of turtles - a real highlight.

We were very pleased with the food, having been a little apprehensive about how our (14 & 12 year-old) children would find traditional fare. There was plenty to eat and a great variety of food - and nothing too spicy!

Tolga, our guide was excellent. Very engaging and good with the children. Everything ran very smoothly and he and the captain organised a great itinerary, despite dealing with a very unusual August storm.

Sleeping on the deck was delightful, the whole holiday very relaxing.

Swanage, Dorset
We had a wonderful week on board Sobek exploring Turkey's beautiful coast. We loved swimming & snorkelling in all the bays that the crew took us to. The water was beautifully clear & we were lucky to spot a few turtles too! We enjoyed the history too - the trip to the Dalyan river to see the rock tombs, Caunus, mud baths & then Iztuzu beach was a great start to the week & then visiting the ancient city of Xanthos & walking into the Saklikent gorge, climbing the citadel of Simena & sea kayaking over the sunken city at Kekova were all great experiences & the history was brought to life by Tolga our guide. This is not a holiday for anyone who wants luxury accommodation though - life on board a gulet is simple. When not swimming, we read books, played cards or backgammon. There is only enough electricity to charge phones & camera batteries (so ladies leave your hairdryers etc at home). We all had cabins but only used them for changing & having a shower in at the end of the day as we all slept on deck (so bring nightwear that is suitable for being seen in!). And finally, we ate delicious local food cooked by Said the cook at the big shared table (I especially loved not having to think about cooking for a week).
By the way, by the time we had finished activities/swimming & got changed at the end of each day, there usually wasn't much time before supper & then everyone crashed out pretty soon after, so you wont need to bring lots of "evening" clothes or shoes (you are barefoot on the gulet) either - just make sure you bring several sets of swimming costumes so that you can rotate, sandals that you can walk in (& are prepared to get wet as they will get wet in the gorge) & extra towels. We were given a towel each, but you will need more & they get pretty salty after a while.
Overall, it was my idea of heaven, our son turned into a fish, we all agreed that Turkey is a very special, beautiful place and that a week was not nearly long enough!

Enjoyed whole trip. Good mix of relaxing and activities. Our tour guide Tolga was excellent - knowledgeable, organised and friendly. The boat crew were great too - really helpful, efficient and lots of great food.
Would recommend this trip!

Chilling on the boat was fab, swimming in the clear warm waters. Visiting Kas and Fethiya also very good.
